Hi everybody!!!

Here's the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series mod for Platinum G3.  A huge effort was made to make possible to release this that soon into the year. We had to update and develop lots of things to make this possible in all its extent.

The mod provides 3 models that work for all current Cup Series car brands. Any model will work for Ford, Chevy and Toyota. The differences are the F1-key view options.

The options are:

- Model name: MCCH (for those who like the blue gauges cockpit)

- Model name: MCDT (for those who like the green gauges/bargraph RPM meter cockpit)

- Model name: MCHV (for those who like the hood view, no cockpit)


G3-ME Track Pack:


 The mod also features the 23 updated tracks used for Monster Cup schedule. 24 tracks in total since Daytona has an additional night version included. For each one of these tracks, the mod has a new feature called ghostcar that will be explained below.


Ghostcar feature for practicing (only at G3-ME tracks):

  You can take the ghostcar feature ON at Setup screen after loading the desired track.  With this feature activated, the mod will bring "average laps" raced by the PACECAR as guide.  Then... when the user beats the pacecar lap time, it becomes himself the lap to beat. So... as the user gets himself improved.... it has to beat himself more and more.

 Now... here's the coolest part:

Once the user participates of online races, the best laps ever record of the races will be captured/recorded on his mod records.  So, for example: Let's say "whoever" scored the BEST LAP EVER on the raced track. The user will later be able to race against "whoever's" ghostcar (as long as he wants) and try to adjust his car or skills to catch "whoever" and beat him up next time they go online.  :icon_mrgreen:

 So.....  it's up to the drivers now.


 Mod installation:


We are trying to make it simple this time around. To avoid all those problems Windows 7, 8 or 10 use to have with Windows putting things on the wrong places or virtual folders. We are providind the mod and tracks in folders. 

All the user need to do is the following....

For the mod:

 Unzip the Mod pack, copy the CotPlatinumG3 folder and paste it into Nascar HEAT folder.  New users installing the mod for the first time will only need this. No need to install base files.  For the older users, who already have the 2016 (or older) mod working, they just need to confirm to overwrite the existing files.  That's it.


For the tracks:

 Unzip the pack, select all track files together, copy and paste them all into the Run folder (that is into Nascar HEAT folder). That's it.

Congrats Mauro, on a job well done.. :applaud:  I'm sure the guys are going to enjoy the new updates of digital dash, physics, and a few other gems..  The ingame paints are first class, Puttzracer, Spike and Mauro.  Amazing job. :icon_mrgreen: :good2:

Oh.. indeed, Duster!  I forgot to mention that.

Bristol and Darlington files were put directly into the mod folder. This way it wont overwrite the original tracks. Thses two tracks are those dual pit lane tracks that can't be renamed..... otherwise they end inverting the pit positions.   ;-)

I installed the Monster Energy Cup Mod today and I'm having an issue. When I open the MOD launcher, the mod is there, but when it opens, the game loads the default screen and car set. What's going on?

 I had to limit the number of models to 3 due the very little time for development of everything that was updated.  You know....  screens, paints, cars, tracks.  Extra models with a variety of options is planned to 2018 though.  :icon_cool:

Hi....

When or how exactly you got this error? I dont think I ever saw this happening. 

Anyway.... the binkw32.dll must go into Nascar HEAT and Run folders. His function is to enable the sound during the intro video animation during G3 loading stage. The one found in CotPlatinumG3 folders is just in case you need a fresh copy of it. That might be the case.  ;)

it says file is in windows and windows sys but needs to be installed in the directory;but it is there.Doesn't launch

Quick question, I'm fairly new, I've used some of the other G2/G3 mods you all have made (which are great btw), but I just got back into NASCAR Heat the other day so decided to download your newest mod here and I am having a problem.
So far the only track I've been able to play on are G3-ME Talledega and Chicagoland, the rest will crash right after I hit the practice/qualify/race button. If you all would like to see the crash log it give me I can post that as well.
Also I had this problem with the G3-ME Talledega until I turned down the field size from 43 to 40, sadly that did not fix it for the rest of the tracks.

Yeah.... post the crash file. So we can try to decipher it.   (Y)

Anyway....  you can decrease the field size (and graphics quality) to a minimum number and, in case it works, start to increase them step by step until you reach the maximum your PC can hold before crashing. 

Unchecking the "Hi Detail Cars" option can also help if you suspect your PC is struggling too much to get the game running..  ;)

That's really really strange. As far as I know, this dll is not even essential for HEAT game....  :idunno:

Maybe you should try to reinstall the HEAT Core from the begining again.  Something might have not been done right or got screwed. That would be a chance for us to understand better what's going on your end....  ;)

I'm pretty confident that computer should have no performance issues with this game, and I had just figured that since NASCAR reduced the its field from 43 to 40 that the new tracks for the mod might have reflected that, and that might have been the problem.

Sometimes, you get the "texture cache entries [293]" type of an error when using the old patch 1.72 e?  Please make sure your game is patched up to 1.80.

Alrighty so, I updated the game to 1.80, I must have over looked when i reinstalled everything. Then I went to every track I had to see if they would load when I practice/qualify/race. I have Vanilla tracks and the ME pack tracks, here are the ones that did not work:
V Daytona, V Homestead, V Charlotte (Lowe's Motor Speedway), V Texas,
ME Atlanta, ME Autoclub, ME Charlotte, ME Daytona, ME Indy, ME Kentucky, ME Night Daytona, ME Sonoma, and ME Texas.
Hopefully that helps in finding the solution, although to me it seems to be no rhyme or reason...

Looking at this log, it appears you did not install the game via Heat Core and that instead you installed it using the original CD or at least started the install with the original CD. In your log you have missing files, files located in the wrong place and folders that should not exist (folders eliminated after the 1.1 patch).

This will only cause you problem after problem. If this is correct, the easiest solution would be to do the following...

- Don't use the CD to install at all. Doing this starts you off with some weird stuff and explains why you have some things in the wrong place. Heat Core does not clean up an un-patched, new, CD install, it is to be used in its place.

- Start with deleting everything inside the NASCAR Heat folder. Don't delete the folder itself.

- Refresh the folder and if there is anything in it, delete that stuff, until it's actually empty.

- Install Heat Core

- If you want the original tracks, manually copy them from the CD to your run folder (trk files).

- Install / add the tracks and mods you want.

- Then, if you want the new 2017 Cup add on, copy the COTPlatinumG3 Mod folder from the zip file, not the first folder in the zip, overwriting everything in the current COTPlatinumG3 folder if you installed previous addon's and carsets of this mod.

Maybe you should try to reinstall the HEAT Core from the begining again.  Something might have not been done right or got screwed. That would be a chance for us to understand better what's going on your end....  ;)
Done this 4 times but the error keeps happening will try again and figure something out :-\ Thanks for the input

Hi please send me a private message and I can work with you specifically on your specific issue and get this fixed for you. Or start a new topic about your specific issue. I see that there are at least two people in this news topic looking for help and that makes it hard to work through steps, especially when issues may not be exactly the same.

Hey....  welcome to The Mod Squad and HEAT!!

To set the cockpit to an entry, you must edit (with Notepad) the drivers.txt file.  Open the file, locate your entry (car number) and, at the chassi line, replace whatever is written there by mcch.  Save the file and that's it.  Next time you fire up the game you'd be able to run the car with the mcch chassi.  (Y)

Thank you so much to everyone that not only made this mod, but that has also kept this game around so long beyond what is normally a game's expiration date! I can't believe it is still going strong. I guess everyone will have to croak for it to finally fade into history. lol :laugh1:

I am going to miss driving with Jeff Gordon, he is still my favorite driver, but I guess it is time to let him go. Now I guess Truex Jr. will be the man. Yeah I know, I'm a front runner fan, but I actually like the guy. Anyway, thanks again to all of you that are involved with updating and maintaining Heat, and when I get the nerve, maybe I'll see you on the track!  :icon_mrgreen:
