Weekly Racing Series Mod ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mod by Raybee1970 (physics,dashes,screens..etc) Car models are edited NR2002 bodies modified by Phathry25 in 2002. Paints are by Jeff Bye from Nascar Racing 2002 Engine Sounds by Hal9 tweaked by Raybee1970 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This mod is loosely based on the 2002 season. The mod was started on in 2002 also. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ While there are 4 .car files in which you can use,you don't actually have to.The reason is because the only thing different about the individual .car files, are dash textures. So in essense,if you were a Ford fan,you could change all the "chassis" lines in the drivers.txt of the mod to "wrsf" and get Ford dashes. There isn't alot of differences in the dashes anyways.Just minor textures changes is all. Here is the list of car brands and their respective dashes: wrsc = Chevrolet wrsd = Dodge wrsf = Ford wrsp = Pontiac ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For the best playability offline,I'd recommend using only one chassis (.car file). For online play, that is up to you and the server as to which to use.The cars are low in polys, but each LOD is the same since they are small.Use you own discretion on that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Also, the mod has multiple wheel/tire models too and here is a list of those: bbktire = BFGoodrich Black Wheel bbtire = White Letter Goodyear Wide 5 Black bfgtire = BFGoodrich Chrome Wide 5 brtire = BFGoodrich Red/Orange Wheel gbtire = American Racer Blue Wheel gctire = White Letter Goodyear Wide 5 Chrome hbtire = Hoosier Black Wheel hctire = Hoosier Wide 5 Chrome hrtire = Hoosier Red/Orange Wheel hwtire = Hoosier Wide 5 Black ptire = White Letter Goodyear Blue Wheel rrtire = White Letter Goodyear Red Wheel rtire = White Letter Goodyear Black Wheel wgstire = American Racer Wide 5 Black To add any of these to your car, simply assign the tire model (EG: bbktire) in the drivers.txt like so: table Driver number 420 name Weed Killer chassis wrsc rank 13 race_image 100 wheel_basename bbktire <--- For wheel/tire model body_style pcar end ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The install is pretty straightforward.Install it as you would any other Heat mod ;) It's default path will be: C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\Nascar Heat\wrs The mod folder's name is "wrs".Inside the mod folder, are 2 shortcuts and an .exe file. One shortcut is for the folks who have trouble with splash screens. It is titled: Weekly Racing Series Heat (No Splash).lnk The other has splash screen support through the added .exe file. You can probably also start the mod from the .exe if you have no troubles with splash screens. ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Templates for the cars are in a "templates" folder inside the mod folder.Templates are compatible with Paintshop Pro 7 and Adobe Photoshop. They are zipped as .psd files ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is also a "carsets" folder in this mod.Inside it,contains various paints from various types of asphalt latemodel racing including the following: 2002 All American Speedway (Roseville,California) Latemodels 2002 All West Coast Latemodels (All American,Altamont,Stockton and SRL) 2002 Altamont Speedway Latemodels 2002 Northwest Tour (Nascar Elite Division) - with clear rear spoilers 2002 Southwest Tour (Nascar Elite Division) - with clear rear spoilers 2002 SRL Wild West Shootout Latemodels 2002 Stockton Speedway Latemodels To use these properly, you will need Mod Launcher 2 to swap back and forth between them. You can find the Mod Launcher 2 at The Mod Squad: http://themodsquad.uni.cc/ (Under "Downloads",then "Nascar Heat Utilities") One note,so you don't make the mistake of deleting something important. *** When using the "latemodels",load the "2002 All West Coast Latemodels" first since it contains the paint.res for the various other latemodel paintjobs OTHER than the two Elite Division sets which have their own paint.res files. Then you can swap out any of the other "latemodel" sets.*** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A note about the physics too. Some may find these faster than their local latemodels. When I made the physics,I was semi-basing it on the 2 Elite Division carsets,so the cars actually have NASCAR Elite Division style physics which are faster. Also,I took off the restrictor plates,so go try having some fun at Daytona or Talladega, but don't forget to let off in the turns...hehehe :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, what else do you need to know?I dunno...go play the damned thing...lol. If you have any troubles, feel free to post in our forum (recommended) http://www.themodsquad.uni.cc/modules.php?name=Forums or email me at dsechrest@triad.rr.com Thanks for downloading and hope you enjoy.Happy Racing!!
